What is a Drooping Nose?
A Drooping nose occurs when the nasal tip droops excessively,
covering the philtrum, and appears lower than the nostrils
when viewed from the front, giving it a tip-like or arrowhead appearance.
This shape can make the face appear strong, stubborn, or aged.

Retmus Drooping Nose surgery minimizes scars and provides natural results through delicate design and a stable surgical process.
- Method 01
- Resection of Alar Cartilage
The upper part of the alar cartilage forming the nasal tip (wing-shaped portion) is partially removed and the cartilage is tied and repositioned. This lifts the nasal tip, slightly shortens the nose, and creates a more refined nasal height overall.
- Method 02
- Rib Cartilage Support
If necessary, a rib cartilage support graft (autologous or donor) is placed at the columella to firmly support and elevate the nasal tip.
- Method 03
- Depressor Muscle Resection
Two of the four muscles that pull the nasal tip downward are partially cut. This prevents the tip from drooping when smiling or pronouncing “O” and “U” sounds.
- Method 04
- Septal Cartilage Trimming
If the septal cartilage is excessively long, the tip portion is partially trimmed to achieve balanced nasal proportions.

- Columella Correction
If the columella droops, unnecessary skin tissue inside the columella is partially removed to create a cleaner and more stable nasal tip line.
